Part 2. Phần mềm SCADA Ultimate Access - Làm quen phần mềm Scada Cimon D
CimonD là một công cụ chỉnh sửa dự án để xây dựng hệ thống CIMON-SCADA. Với nhiều tính năng có sẵn trong CimonD, người dùng có thể tạo các dự án phù hợp với nhu cầu của mình thông qua nhiều cấu hình khác nhau.
1. CimonD Startup
The users can launch CimonD manually by clicking the application icon or automatically by configuring the application to run upon Windows boot up.
1.1 Creating CimonD Shortcut
a) Go to CIMON-SCADA installed path. The default path is “C:\CIMON\SCADA Version ENG” and it may differ according to the user’s system environment.
b) Right-click the “CimonD.exe” icon and click [Send to] – [Desktop (create shortcut)]. The shortcut icon of CImonD will appear on the desktop
c) Double-click the icon to check if CimonD opens properly. If there are any saved projects from previous editing sessions, select the project to continue editing.
1.2 CimonD Autorun
The user can configure CimonD to run automatically when booting up Windows. Setup methods may differ depending on the versions of Windows.
For Windows 8 and below, CimonD needs to be added in the [Startup] folder. For Windows 8 and above, CimonD needs to be added in the [Task Scheduler].
(1) Windows 8 and below (Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows Server)
a) Right-click on the “CimonD.exe” icon . Click [Send to] – [Desktop (create shortcut)] on the pop-up menu
b) Open the [Startup] window.
- Press [Windows] + [R] keys to open the [Run] window. Enter “shell:startup” in the input box and press [OK]
- Open the [File Explorer] and enter “Startup” in the path field as shown below
c) Move shortcut icon of CimonD into the [Startup] folder
2) Windows 8 and above (Windows 8, Windows 8.1, Windows 10)
a) Right-click on the “CimonD.exe” icon . Click [Send to] – [Desktop (create shortcut)] on the pop-up menu
b) Open the [Control Panel] and go to [Administrative Tools] – [Task Scheduler]
c) Click [Create Basic Task...] on the top right side of the [Task Scheduler] to open the [Create Basic Task Wizard]
d) In the [Create a Basic Task] window, enter “CimonD’ in the name field, then press [Next].
e) In the [Trigger] window, select [When the computer starts] option and press [Next]
f) In the [Action] window, select [Start a program] option and press [Next].
g) Press the [Browse...] button on the right side of the [Program/Script] field and select the shortcut icon of CimonD.
h) Finish the configuration by pressing the [Finish] button on the window
1.3 CimonD Project Execution
a) Go to [File] – [Open Project] in CimonD and select a project to open. Only project files with "*.prj" file format can be opened. The default path of the project files is “C:\CIMON\SCADA Version ENG\Project Folder” .
b) In the startup page of CimonD or at [File] – [Recent Projects], recently edited projects can be found. The user can also browse or create new projects on the startup page.
- In CIMON-SCADA PC, the user can view up to 10 most recent projects on the startup page or the [Recent Projects] menu. In CIMON-SCADA TOUCH, the user can open only the most recently edited project through the startup page or the [Recent Projects] menu.
c) The desired project will open in CimonD.
2. CimonD Termination
a) Go to [File] – [Exit] or click [X] button on the top right corner of CimonD
b) Right-click CimonD on the taskbar and select [Close window]. CimonD can also be closed by pressing [Alt] + [F4].
c) If changes are not saved, the following dialog box will appear
Yes | Saves the changes and closes CimonD. |
No | Does not save the changes and closes CimonD. |
Cancel | Cancels the termination of CimonD. |
3. Initial Operation of CimonD
You can immediately open the project on the start option of CimonD. This allows you to access the project more quickly and to build up the project from the beginning of CimonD execution
3.1 CimonD Start Option
Item | Description |
Recent Project | Projects recently modified are listed in the dialog box. When you are using the CIMON-SCADA PC, up to 10 projects are listed. In the case of CIMON SCADA TOUCH, a project that the most recently opened will be shown. |
Recent Project | Opens the selected project. |
New Project | Brings up a window for creating a new project. |
Search and Open | Launches a file explorer. You may find a project from the directory in which the project file is saved. |
Close | Exits the [Start option] dialog box |
Recent Project
After the selection of the project, you can open it by double-clicking or pressing [Recent Project] button.
If the project was opened in the higher CIMON-SCADA version or the path has been changed, you cannot open the project.
In this case, you can convert the project’s version into the lower one at [File] – [Convert Project Version].

New Project
You can create a project by pressing [New Project] button. On [New Project] window, you can set details of the project.
Item | Description |
Project Name | You must enter the project name. The project name cannot be duplicated to the other project in the same path. If you change the project name manually, it may cause the improper execution of the project in CIMON-SCADA. |
Project Description |
Enter the description of the project. It is not compulsory. |
Saved in | You must assign the path where the project is saved in. The default path is “C:\CIMON\”SCADA Version ENG”. A folder with project name is created, and the project file is saved as “*.prj” format in the folder. |
End User | Enter the end user of the project. It is not compulsory. |
Contractor | Enter the contractor of the project. It is not compulsory. |
Manager | Enter the manager of the project. It is not compulsory. |
Password |
Enter a password to use when you open the project in CimonD Sets up the password for the project. The password has to be entered with following criteria. |
OK | Creates a project with the entered information. |
Cancel | Does not create a project and goes back to the start-up screen. |
When you create a new project, a new page appears
The information you have entered in the [New Project] window can be modified at [Tools] – [Project]. You can modify the description, end-user, contractor, manager, and password
Search and Open
You can browse the project file (‘*.prj’ format) by pressing [Search and Open] button in the [Start Option] dialog box.
When you select and press [Open], the last-edited project will be opened.
(1) Executing a project in the lower version
A project which is created in the higher version of CIMON-SCADA cannot be opened in the lower version. In this case, you can convert the project’s version into the lower one at [File] – [Convert Project Version]. The default path of the converted project is “C:\CIMON\“SCADA Version”\“Project Folder ENG”\Convert”.
When you convert the project version, please be aware of the features which will be removed.

(2) Executing a project in the higher version
When you try to open a project of the lower version with the higher version of CIMON SCADA, a message will appear asking if you wish to upgrade the project. In this window, you can back up the project and edit it on the higher version of CIMON-SCADA
Item | Description |
Path | Saves the backup file in the assigned path. You cannot save the file in the identical project folder. |
Backup Now | Saves the backup file in the path and opens the project in the higher version. |
Open | Does not back up the project and opens the project in the higher version. |
Cancel | Does not execute the project of lower version and goes back to the start-up screen. |
To back up the project properly, you must press [Backup Now] button after assigning the path. Please beware that if you press [Open] button instead, the project backup will not operate.
