About WISE
WISE is an Intelligent Web-based Multi-functions I/O module designed by ICP DAS that functions as control units for use in remote logic control and monitoring in various industrial applications. WISE offers a user-friendly and intuitive HMI interface that allows you to implement control logic on controllers just a few clicks away; no programming is required. With this powerful and easy-to-use software, it will minimize the learning curve, shorten time to market and dramatically reduce the labor and cost spent on system development.
System Architecture
Through Web browser, you can access Web Server on WISE I/O module to perform tasks such as logic rule edition and download. WISE equips an IF-THEN-ELSE rule engine that will check whether the rules are valid or not and determine the execution of actions under specific conditions, for examples: setting up I/O channel values, perform scheduled and Timer tasks, sending Email under a specific condition. In addition, through the Modbus TCP/RTU protocol, it enables SCADA software to control and monitor I/O channel or system status on controllers in real time.
In addition to merits inherited from the previous WISE I/O module series, WISE-580x even provides more supports in I/O functions. It allows to connect with a wide range of the XW-Board, I-7000 Remote I/O modules and Modbus RTU/TCP Slave modules; enables to freely choose the most suitable I/O modules. With the microSD card, it provides Data Logger function to real-time record the I/O data of the controller and allows to send the data files by FTP or Email at a scheduled time to the control center for further administration management or data analysis.

IF-THEN-ELSE logic rules execution ability
WISE equips with an IF-THEN-ELSE logic Rule Engine; it offers IF-THEN-ELSE rules for you to set up the logic content. After completing rule edition and downloading rules to the WISE controller, the Rule Engine will loop execute the rules in order under specific conditions.

WISE provides user-friendly Web UI pages for editing control logic on the controllers. It enables to implement logic edition by a few clicks on the mouse to set up and deploy logic rules without writing a single line of code.

Provides Web-based HMI interface runs on regular Web browsers. To edit control logic, it only requires a browser to connect to the Web server on WISE. No extra software tool installation is needed on the target PC.

- Data Logger function
With the microSD card, WISE-580x provides Data Logger function to real-time record the I/O data of the controller and sends the data files by FTP or Email to the control center for further administration management or data analysis.
- Provide Timer and Schedule operation
WISE features two kinds of timing functions: Timer and Schedule. It allows you to perform specific tasks such as time delay, or schedule specific date or time for control logic execution. To ensure the accuracy of the WISE controller clock, it also has the ability to sync the clock to an SNTP time server for time synchronization through the network.

- Provide Email message and CGI command sending functions
WISE supports non-SSL Email message and CGI command sending functions. Email and CGI command functions are important function for real-time message communication. The sending action can be added to the logic edition as part of logic control to provide real-time message transmission or sending CGI command for device control in response to specific events.
- Recipe function for Group Action operation
WISE provides Recipe function that allows to execute a sequence of actions previously saved in the Recipe to response to IF-THEN-ELSE logic rules Conditions. You can create different Recipe sets to meet various requirements for different applications.
- Real-time monitoring system status of I/O modules
WISE supports Modbus TCP/RTU Protocol (only WISE-5800 / WISE-5801 features Modbus RTU Slave function.) for users to perform real-time monitoring and control of the WISE I/O modules. WISE also provides an easy-to-view HMI web interface for real-time monitoring. It allows users to get important real time system information even without SCADA software.
- Password protection for access control
WISE HMI web page offers password protection. After getting in the webpage, you will be required to input the password before editing logic rules.
- Active I/O Sending function
In addition to the Modbus TCP/RTU Slave function that enables SCADA software (or HMI device) to poll the I/O channels value of the WISE-580x, now WISE-580x provide the new function “Active I/O Sending” for user. Based on the “Active I/O Sending” function, WISE-580x can send the I/O channels value of the controller actively to SCADA software (or HMI device) by event trigger (I/O channel value changed) or periodic cycle. This function will improve the efficient of the data communication between WISE-580x and SCADA software (or HMI device).
Please note: The SCADA software (or HMI device) must equip the Modbus TCP Slave function to receive the I/O channels data sent by WISE-580x.
- MQTT Message Publish/Subscribe operation
WISE-75xx supports the non-SSL MQTT protocol. It can publish the I/O channel data to the MQTT broker, and receive the message content of the Subscribe MQTT Topics which is published by others MQTT device to control the output channels.
- Provides SMS command receiving function and alarm notification function
WISE-5801(-MTCP) equips SMS command receiving and alarm message notification function. It allows to include SMS alarm sending action into logic rules to send a pre-set SMS message to related personnel when an event occurs. In addition, WISE allows to receive the SMS commands sending by specific phones numbers to perform tasks such as real-time channel monitoring, channel data modification and logic rules execution (triggered by SMS), etc.
- Fully P2P function between WISE controllers
WISE-71xx / WISE-72xx / WISE-75xx / WISE-790x offers P2P function that enables WISE controllers to directly communicate with other remote WISE controllers on networks. All WISE controllers can freely share their status information such as I/O channel value, DI/DO Counter or Internal Register to each others. The P2P operations can be incorporated into WISE logic rules as Condition statements or Action statements for Condition evaluation criteria or Action executions.

Monitoring System for Ranch
In the environment of the ranch, due to the ranches generally consist of large areas, it is necessary to collect the sensor information from all over the ranch through wireless technology, and it also requires to remotely control the equipment located everywhere of the ranch, so that the operator can adjust the suitable environment parameters according to the factors such as weather, temperature and humidity to help the growth of the livestock and the crop.
WISE-5231M-4GE can work with the ZT-2550/ZT-2551 Zigbee wireless communication module to collect the temperature and humidity information throughout the ranch and detect rain through the rain detector. If the rainfall intensity is too high or rainfall is too much, it can be covered by the electric retractable curtain automatically or manually via the WISE5231M-4GE. WISE also supports LINE Notify message sending. It can be used with scheduled function to send messages to report the current status of the equipment and environment of the ranch, or to send the alarm notification message to the manager for immediate response when a special event occurs. Based on the function WISE-5231M-4GE provided, it can provide convenient and real-time management mechanisms for the manager of the ranch and reduce loading of the task.

Community Fire Alarm System
Hydrant equipment is an indispensable part of the Community/Home security system. Nowadays, most communities are equipped with the Hydrant equipment. However, most of the Hydrant equipment is old version and has no Internet connection function. If we can improve the functionality of the Internet connection for these Hydrant equipment, then the real-time information of the sensor and the status of the Hydrant equipment can be sent to the Internet Cloud system, the manager of the Hydrant system can receive the real-time alarm notification through the mobile phone at anytime and anywhere, and then also can control the operation of Hydrant equipment remotely to avoid or reduce the damage. It will increase the reliability of the Community/Home security system.
WISE-5231 supports the Modbus RTU protocol, which can be connected to the Central Control Host of the Fire Detector to get the real-time information, control the Hydrant equipment, and it can also work with a smoke detector to enhance the fire detection capability. The distributed WISE-5231 in different areas of the community can transmits the sensor data of Hydrant equipment to the IoTstar Cloud Management software for data collection and analysis. With the IoTstar Bot Service, when the fire is detected, the Bot Service will send the alarm notification message to the mobile phone of the duty officer by LINE App. The duty officer also can check via the LINE App to see if the on-site Hydrant equipment has been activated or not. If not, the Hydrant equipment can be activated through the LINE App in real time. It provides convenient and immediate community safety management mechanism.

Tunnel Monitoring System
The security maintenance in a tunnel is a tough work and it is time sensitive. For it always requires to monitor a wide range of areas in the tunnel, if all monitoring jobs only rely on manual operations when a disaster happened, it might cause delays and lead to huge losses. WISE controller allows to connect to various I/O modules and is able to response to the emergency in real-time. In this case, the WISE controllers are installed in various segments in the tunnel and are connected to smoke/temperature sensors, warning lights, sprinklers, ventilation fans and other equipment. The logic rules that in response to emergency situations could be pre-set in WISE controllers, and when smoke and high temperature are detected, the fire fighting procedures will be triggered; the sprinklers will be automatically turned on to put out the fire; the ventilation fans will be started to take away the smoke; and will turn on the warning lights and open the security doors to guide people in the tunnel away from the emergency scene. The related information will be gathered in back-end control center, and will send out notification to all controllers in all segments of the tunnel for traffic control and management.

Unmanned Facility Room Monitoring System

- When the room temperature is getting too high and being detected, the air conditioning equipment will be turned on and a real-time alarm message will be sent to related personnel.
- Set up the rotation schedule for air conditioning devices to take turns operating to ensure the air conditioning devices won’t be damaged due to prolonged operation.
- If an air conditioning device is detected to be damaged, the back-up air conditioning will be turned on for redundant operation and a real-time alarm message will be sent to related personnel.
In addition, it allows to connect to WISE controller by SCADA software to perform the control, monitoring and collection of the I/O channel data of the facilities. When a fire burns out in a building, not only the people near the fire scene need to pay attention to the emergency situation but all people in the building should be notified with the latest update. With the advanced P2P function of WISE, a linked alarm system can be easily built. Put 6 WISE-7152 modules in six regions of this area, the DI channels of each WISE-7152 module are connected to temperature/smoke detectors and emergency switches, and the 6 DO channels will be connected with the 6 warning lights (each warning light for a region). When the WISE-7152 in F region detects fire, it will send out the warning via the advanced P2P function to share the information. All warning lights represent F region on the 6 WISE-7152 distributed in the 6 regions will be turned on to notify everyone in the building that a fire is happening in F region. By knowing the exact fire scene location will help to guide people the accurate direction to leave the fire scene. After the problem in F region being solved by related personnel, press the emergency switch to turn off the alarm, the alarm in all 6 WISE-7152 will be turn off at the same time.
In addition to the 6 WISE-7152 distributed in various regions, another WISE-7152 could be installed to monitor the network status of all 6 WISE-7152 modules. Through the sharing information ability of advanced P2P function, this WISE-7152 will communicate with the other 6 WISE-7152 modules regularly, and the light indicators of the 6 DO channels on this WISE-7152 will show the network status of the 6 WISE-7152 modules. The operator could easily verify the network status of each module in this fire alarm linked system by the indicator and could quickly find and fix the module with no response.

For example, connect WISE-7144 with IP Camera for access control, it allows the IP Camera (via CGI Command sending) to real time record the images of the workers before opening the outer door to the clean zone. After the outer door is shut, the workers enter the clean zone and get in the air shower chamber. At this time, WISE-7144 is able to start the air shower; the built-in Timer function makes it easy to define the shower time interval. After the shower is done, the inner door will be opened for the workers to move from the clean zone to the cleanroom.
